Ridge Scrambling

Scrambling lies between mountain walking and rock climbing and is a fantastic group activity. Ascend a mountain via a dramatic route with the use of safety ropes, for the steep sections. You will be surprised at how quickly you can reach the summits when scrambling.

The Lake District has numerous scrambles on its well known (and lesser known) summits. Scrambling can be made as energetic and challenging as you wish. Our routes are suitable for complete novices or people with some experience who would like to try something more advanced. We work with you to make your ridge scrambling safe, exciting, challenging and, most importantly, fun.

Examples of ridge scrambling

Join one of our instructors to scramble your way to the summit. Your day will be tailored to suit your wishes and level of experience.

If you want to move your scrambling on and start to become self sufficient, take advantage of the skills and knowledge of our instructors. Learn about route choice, rope work, finding your scramble and finding your way down again. This is ideal for those already comfortable walking in the hills, who wish to move to the next level.

Do you have a specific target in mind? We can help you gain the skills and experience you need for your adventures.
